Lots of cam girls are now selling amateur porn videos on platforms like ManyVids, so a lot of the new models out there are wondering if this something they should do too. But is it really worth the time and effort to produce a bunch of videos to sell on ManyVids? I'm going to talk a bit about this because I've had experience selling content there, and the answer to this question really depends. When you've been able to build up a large social media following, like on Twitter and Instagram, making videos to sell to that audience cam make a lot of sense. Your followers are into you, and they're typically going to love having multiple content options to purchase. With a large social media fan base, you can directly market these videos straight to your fans, and you'll usually see that you can sell quite a few. If you're a camming newbie and haven't had time to buildup a strong following, though, it's probably not a good idea to take the time to produce a bunch of video content to sell, on ManyVids or anywhere else. Making videos takes a lot of time, and if you're new with no real fans, you should be spending as much of your time camming and attracting fans as possible. It can take several months of consistent camming to build a large enough social media following to be able to sell a significant number of videos. Before you get to that point, you should just basically get on cam every day and keep attracting new viewers into your room. Promote your Twitter and your Instagram while you're camming, and you'll see that your followers on those accounts keep climbing steadily as you get more and more popular on your cam site. Eventually, you'll have thousands of fans you can market your videos to. To sum up, it makes sense to sell videos when your social media accounts are mature and well-followed. A built-in audience on Twitter and IG is perfect for cam girls who want to sell lots of videos. If you don't have mature social accounts, focus on camming so you can promote your social accounts to your camming audience. After a while, you'll be in a great position to sell videos.

A girl once told me, in a totally judgmental tone, that I should just get a real job instead of trying to make money camming. She was obviously a prude who wasn't having any of the webcam modeling business as a legitimate way to earn a living online. I responded by saying that I've already made three times more money being a cam girl than I ever did in years of working in a retail store. She just got ticked off and left, at that point. But this is a real question that lots of potential cam models ask themselves. It's the question I asked myself years ago when I was deciding whether to keep making 11 bucks an hour at Macy's, or try for a better life by becoming a webcam model. Most of the time, taking the plunge into camming makes a lot of sense and is way better than working a normal job. First of all, you need to understand that as a cam girl, you'll be able to literally choose the hours you work. After a few months of camming, your income will likely be much better than any normal job you could get without a college degree, and you'll be working fewer hours to earn that money. Secondly, nothing is better than being your own boss...I mean, seriously here. When I worked at Macy's, my boss was the epitome of a demon boss. I mean, she was a complete monster, and I was so glad to be rid of her when I quit my job. This is not something you will have to deal with if you become a cam girl, because you'll be self-employed and not subject to any supervision whatsoever. Now, honestly, there are some downsides to camming and working for yourself. One is that, if you're not a natural self-starter, you're going to have a real problem sticking to a consistent camming schedule, which is the key to success in webcam modeling. Camgirls who don't cam regularly, every day at the same time, usually are never able to build their fan base and never make good money. So, if you're lazy, or lack self-discipline, you will fail as a cam model. To be honest, most people are in this group. They are just not driven and organized enough to work for themselves. Not that you can't change that part of you -- you can. I know because I did it myself. That bitch boss of mine motivated me to get my act together and work hard for myself, which drove me to succeed. So get your act together, put your head down, and cam like it's going out of style. When you get established and start making great money, you're going to love the fact that you don't have to work a real job. I once tried to convince a struggling college girl to try camming as a way to pay her tuition bills, but she said she couldn't because she was Catholic and believed it was a sin. A couple weeks after I first approached her, she messaged me and told me that she had reconsidered and was going to give webcam modeling a try. She ended up doing extremely well, and reported to me that she was making almost $10k per month camming at Chaturbate.
She recently mentioned to me that she feels guilty being a cam girl, even though she terribly needs the money she's making. I told her that I don't believe being naked on cam is a "sin," but you know how religious attitudes can be. Everything having to do with sex is evil and horrible. Well, of course that's complete bullcrap, but I digress. If you have religious beliefs that would contradict you becoming a cam model, you either need to leave those beliefs behind, or just don't do it. This girl I mentioned is constantly racked with guilt and feels she is betraying her conscience by being in the camming world, and there's nothing more sad than that. I mean, if you believe sex is evil, just don't go near a cam site. Now, if you have an open mind, you can reason yourself into accepting that there's nothing wrong with nudity or sexuality, and if you can get there, you can be a camgirl without violating your core spiritual principles. You just have to take some time and think it through. Is anyone getting hurt by doing what you're doing when you cam? Are you victimizing anyone? Is there real value (like entertainment value) in performing as a cam girl? If you ask yourself these questions, you will quickly realize that there's nothing wrong with camming. I'm all for religion, if it rocks your boat. I just hate it when people let ancient beliefs about sex and the human body affect their behavior in the modern world. Camming is a form of entertainment, just like movies. You're proving a fantasy for people who are seeking it out because it brings them joy. So no, being a webcam model is not wrong, and getting involved in the industry should make you feel guilty. Think for yourself and make proper decisions about your life, is my basic message on this issue. |
